The Western Organic Network
The Western Organic Network Skillnet is an innovative new organisation in the Northwest which has been set up to provide training for established Organic Producers and anyone who is considering conversion to Organics.
We have a wide range of tailor made courses available including Commercial Organic Horticulture, Practical Livestock Management, Business Skills for Organic Producers, Conversion to Organics and Marketing Skills. We also have a 'Train the Trainer' course which has been designed to help master farmers in the region develop and deliver their own training programmes.
All our trainers are at the top of their fields and we are working closely with other organisations in the region including Atlantic Organics, The Organic Centre, North West Organic and Leitrim Organic Farmers Co-op.
Courses are flexible to suit the needs of producers and are run at locations and times that suit our busy members. We also have a wide range of networking events including farm walks, guest speakers, socials, machinery demonstrations and monthly meetings to allow for problem solving and the sharing of tips and information.
