Terra Madra Day Slow Food lunch Sunday 20th December
to Celebrate Terra Madra Day - 20 years of Slow Food International Movement
Preparations are underway for the worldwide celebration of Slow Food's 20th anniversary and 'Eating Locally' on Terra Madre Day this December 10. 150 events have already been registered around the world: a wide range of actions as diverse and unique as the communities holding them, from a shared dinner under an elephant at the Toulouse Natural history museum in France, to a community folk festival in Bangladesh, an event linking chefs with artisan farmers in Kenya, and a fish canning party in the USA.
We now have for first time a branch of slow food in this region and we invite all artisan food producers, growers, fishermen and anyone who believes in clean local food to come and join this celebration . Rathmullan House is the perfect establishment to host this event for our region and you also have an opportunity to support our local craft workers in our region also.
Spring sow & grow afternoon on Saturday 20th March with potatoes in the walled garden with Dennis. The idea is that people can plant their own in bags and take them home.Spring Lamb Donegal Slow Food Dinner on Friday 16th April.

Silke Cropp came to live in Belturbet in 1981, and being frustrated that she could not find the type of cheeses she wanted, decided to set about making her own. Now she has her own large herd of goats, and her cheeses - named after her townland 'Corleggy' have own many prizes including two gold and two silver medals at the International Cheese Competition, Dublin 2000. Corleggy cheeses are now available in the best restaurants and gourmet stores in Europe. Corleggy Farmhouse is situated on the banks of the River Erne, between counties Cavan and Fermanagh, in Ulster, Ireland. The cows and goats graze on neighbouring farms in a natural environment, where the fields are rich with herbs. While Corleggy cheese making may be more labour intensive than mass produced cheese we feel the benefits are to be found in the tasting.Learn about Cheese Making Courses available in Summer 2010.
