Creative Craft Activity Weekend Breaks
Join us on Orchard Acre Farm for a short holiday with a difference. We offer a great escape to rural Ireland near the stunning Fermanagh Lakeland's. There are willow weaving, papermaking and wood carving weekends to choose from.
Orchard Acre Farm has teamed up with Mahon's Hotel in Irvinestown; a family run 3 star Hotel offering you the best in traditional hospitality and accommodation. This year the fifth generation of Mahons to run the hotel has adopted eco friendly standards. Orchard Acre Farm serves delicious hand prepared seasonal and organic foods. Vegetarian is our speciality. In the workshops we guarantee personal attention and tuition. The tutors are experienced, knowledgeable, and have a great sense of fun
There is loads of free time so it is not all "work". There is time to shop, time to explore the local area; Necarne Estate is a few minutes walk from the hotel. We will make excursions to places of natural and historic beauty and you can also enjoy the live entertainment of Irvinestown by night.

Learning
Orchard Acre Farm has a policy of providing enlightening learning experience for their guests and students. All packages encourage participants to consider all aspects of waste reduction and environmental protection as standard during the package.
Conservation
Growing willow provides habitat for a vast number of species and Orchard Acre Farm hopes that as more and more people discover the joys of willow this will have a knock on effect in terms of biodiversity and conservation. Teresa is active in a number of conservation initiatives in the Greenbox region and has been involved in the establishment of the Greenbox project for a number of years.
Benefiting the local community
By choosing to visit Orchard Acre Barn you are helping to directly and indirectly support a number of individuals, community organisations and businesses in rural Fermanagh. All food not grown on the farm or purchased locally (within a 10 mile radius) is purchased through a workers co operative coordinated by Orchard Acre Farm. All hard ware is locally purchased and many structures are constructed from on farm waste materials, for example tin, plastic and wood waste. Cheese is sourced from a local supplier within the Greenbox region, and the overall philosophy of Orchard Acre Farm experiences is that they use tutors who live locally and materials that are produced locally.
