The Capital Development Project, funded by INTERREG 1.4 and administered by Border Action and DARD, aims to provide grant aid to tourism related businesses and community groups located in the Greenbox region.

This will allow them to realise the benefits of tapping into the ecotourism market and will enable the Greenbox to market its region as a world class ecotourism destination on a global scale.

The Greenbox in conjunction with Colin Bell, an eco-architect based in Sligo have developed guidelines for those interested in building or refurbishing their premises in an ecologically friendly manner.

The document focuses on areas including energy use, pollution, sustainable technologies etc. We hope that by reading this you may gain an understanding of sustainable construction and will apply some of the principles to your own projects!
