Necarne Manor is a beautiful Georgian residence, with a stripped-back and classic interior design to match its historic past, as part of the Necarne Estate. These 200 acres of rolling fields were originally the gardens and pastures belonging to the various owners of the estate's 17th Century castle, one of the finest examples of Gothic Revival architecture to remain in
In fact horses and lakes are very much the central themes at Necarne Manor. There are stables for those wishing to use the riding centre's facilities. If you are not here for the horses, you can also roam through the estate into Irvinestown, and take a bike along the Kingfisher Cycle Trail, down to the shores of Lower Lough Erne, and the splendid Nature Reserve at Castle Archdale, just a few kilometres away. The owners will organize bike hire for visitors.
Necarne Manor, a bed and breakfast accommodation, is situated among some of the remaining 200 acres of the estate's mature woodland which visitors are free to stroll around, energized by their fine Irish breakfast. They use organic, Fairtrade and locally-produced food where possible, although the recent creation of their organic kitchen garden, with polytunnel and glasshouse, makes them a definite player in the Slow Food movement. Here they also compost organic waste, to add to their already-existing recycling system. With an Equestrian Centre on their doorstep, there must be no shortage of the finest organic manure either.
