Rushin House is on a family farm about a mile from the border town of Belcoo. Despite being only open just over a year, the owners, Cathal and Brenda O'Dolan, have worked hard to create a small caravan park on the raised ground behind their 1870's farmhouse. . The O'Dolans decided to go slow on cattle farming in the late 1990's and are committed to preserving their small piece of natural heritage as best possible.
Visiting anglers can almost throw a line from their camping beds here, as Rushin is right on the shores of Lough Macnean, a wonderful coarse fishing lake for Pike, Perch, Bream, Roach, Hybrid Eels and Brown Trout. Rushin House is also suitable for families, as it is a good safe distance from the road, has a contemporary wooden play area, a football pitch, as well as the outdoor water park and bike hire facilities just down the road at Corralea Activity Centre. This small site has only 25 touring pitches, and a small patch of land by the water's edge for tents.
The O'Dolan family's commitment to green principles is not only obvious by the installation of low-energy lighting, 'A' rated utilities, and good information on how to protect the environment for their visitors, but also in the impeccable cleanliness of this caravan site. This explains its recent 5 star classification from the Northern Ireland Tourist Board. They also provide a welcome pack to all their visitors with information on everything to do in the West Fermanagh area, most of which are low-carbon activities, and involve a discovery of this rich biodiverse landscape.
